Events: Mickey: The True Original Exhibition

Earlier last week, I had a pleasurable experience exploring the Mickey: The True Original Exhibition in NYC. We couldn’t miss Micky’s 90th Birthday bash, especially since the museum has landed in the city. It’s been a while since my last encounter with Mickey Mouse. Thirteen years (Senior Trip) to be exact, and my little buddy hasn’t really aged at all. From all the urban artwork to the nostalgic Mickey Mouse Club diner, Mo and I spent a couple of hours exploring each room within the museum. Plus, we got to walk around in these cool Mickey Mouse ears. How fun! I felt like a little kid all over again! I’m not going to spoil too much about the exhibit, but the pictures speak for themselves. If you have a upcoming trip to NYC and $38 to spare, be sure to pay Mickey a visit. He will appreciate all the fun!

Yay! I feel like a little kid again! Last week, I found these black denim overalls on Boohoo on sale, and I couldn’t resist. To be honest, I’ve been looking for a new pair of overalls for like two years now (A pair that I can actually afford). Luckily, Boohoo had them in my size. Since they are all black, I decided to keep with this theme by styling them with a black crewneck sweatshirt. This is one of those old, knock around sweatshirts from way back. For a pop of color, I captured the essence of fall in my orange Vans sneakers. Dope, right? So, how do you feel about this particular look? Feel free to share in the comments section below.

#WIWT Flag Print Denim Jacket

I’ve been rocking the heck out of some denim jackets lately! Last week, it was all about the sherpa jacket from ASOS. This time, the international flag print denim jacket has my full attention. Featuring a basic collar and dual chest flap pockets, this jacket captures the full essence of patriotism with every noticeable flag. Canada, Japan, Jamaica, the United States, just to name a few. Even if your not from any of these countries, you can still rock this jacket. It’s a very unique statement piece. Honestly, I was surprised that it came from Forever21. Nevertheless, I styled my jacket with a black turtleneck, dress pants, and sneakers. So many prints and colors in one look! I know it’s a lot, but hey, it works! #WIWT Sherpa Denim Jacket

Back in college, I was lucky enough to own a very cozy, sherpa lined corduroy coat. Please note that I went to a southern university during the “Snap and Roll” days, when corduroy jackets in general were few and far between. You couldn’t tell me I wasn’t hot stuff back then. Fast forward to 2018, and here we are again. Sherpa lining has transitioned back into mainstream fashion yet again. That said, I found this bleached sherpa lined denim jacket on ASOS, and of course, I had to get it! Today I decided to style my jacket with this vertically striped t-shirt and dress pants.
