Travel: Long Beach Island

August 30, 2018

Due to some unusual circumstances, I haven’t been to the beach all summer. I know, it’s pretty ridiculous, but it’s life. Needless to say, Mo and I had a chance to grab our beach towels and hit the Jersey Shore. More specifically, Long Beach Island. Located along the eastern coast of New Jersey, Long Beach Island is a very chill spot. Let’s be honest, when you don’t have a boardwalk filled with ferris wheels, funnel cakes, and bars, the only sounds are the waves hitting the sand. Aside from the 97 degree weather, this was the perfect way to end the month of August. Hopefully, I’ll get a chance to hit the shore a few more times next summer. In the meantime, enjoy some of these random moments with my Fujifilm Instax Mini 9 Polaroid camera. We took a lot of photos so the following are just a few highlights. Have you been on any beach trips this summer? Let’s chat about it in the comments section below.

Talk to you soon,

#WIWT Summer Wedding Suit

What I’m Wearing
Suit | Shirt | Shoes

Happy Hump Day! As mentioned in a previously post found here, I had the honor of being a groomsmen in my friend Reggie’s wedding. I flew out to Durham, North Carolina last Friday, with my suit tightly packed in my carry-on book bag. Here is an example of how to rock that well folded suit. So, How did you manage to pack an entire suit in a book bag Bryce? To be completely transparent, I watched a ton of youtube videos on how to fold a suit for travel. Luckily, I stumbled across this video found here, which really did the trick. Oh, and did I forget to mention that the suit arrived to my home folded in a cardboard box? We rented our suits from The Black Tux, a on-line fashion company that specializes in suits and tuxedos. The suits were mailed out two weeks before the wedding. Since the suit arrived a tad wrinkled, I had no problem refolding it for travel. Before the wedding, I had a day to release the wrinkles with a little shower steam.

Okay, so that was a mouthful. Now, let’s talk about the suit. As you know, lighter weight fabrics are the best way to go for summer. This particular suit was light enough for a humid, afternoon. You know that down south heat is a different type of beast too! Rather than neckties, the groom accessorized us with pink polka-dot bow-ties and pocket squares, which were heavily influenced by the summer’s soft color palette. Light shades of blue, green, and yellow also complement a grey suit quite well. Overall, I loved this particular suit. I felt straight out of a 007 movie. So, how do you feel about this particular look? Feel free to share in the comments section below.

Events: Reggie and Chavon’s Wedding

By now, you should be quite aware that summer is the most popular season for weddings. This doesn’t mean that the other seasons are more or less great. However, there is something special about walking down the isle on a beautiful summer afternoon or evening. That being said, I was honored to be apart of my friend’s big wedding day last weekend! Reggie and Chavon met a little over three years ago, and have been inseparable ever since. So, it came to no surprise when Reggie popped the question last fall, and here we are! The couple tied the knot in Durham, North Carolina. Their wedding venue, Cotton Room at Golden Belt, was truly magnificent! It’s factory like appearance was the perfect location for this special occasion. Before the wedding, the groomsmen were confined to the “Man Cave” to relax, drink, and snack. Luckily, I was able to snag a few shots before we hit the ceremony, as shown above. When the wedding photographer drops those photos, I’ll be sure to share. In the meantime, enjoy my pregame shots 🙂 .

Congrats again Reggie and Chavon,

#WIWT Selena Graphic T-Shirt

August 22, 2018

What I’m Wearing
T-Shirt | Shorts| Sandals

Tucked in graphic tees have been my “thing” all summer, and the trend didn’t stop today. As shown above, I decided to keep it super casual in my Selena tee from Target. The shirt itself has a very vibrant color scheme, pulling inspiration from Andy Warhol’s infamous pop art effect. Since the shirt is black, I decided to add a little pop of color with these pink chino shorts from ASOS. Why pink? Easy! Some of the colors from the imagery are in fact pink. So why not pull a little color from that? Finishing off, I decided to embrace my inner “Shoobie” with this tube sock and hiking sandal combo. For the record, the term Shoobie originated from one of my favorite childhood tv shows in Nickelodeon, Rocket Power. So, how do you feel about this particular look? Feel free to share in the comments section below.

See Ya,
