In the first unanimous vote of the season, Dominique Cooper, the 30 year old government engineer became the fourth houseguest evicted from the Big Brother house. Following Cody’s eviciton, Dominique was in hot water after a few allegations were thrown her way. So, how did it all go down? Check out the full summary below.

Head of Household

Source: CBS

The Space Cadet’s Head of Household competition picks up right after Cody’s eviction. According to Wikipedia, “Houseguests stood on a small foothold and held on to their handles, trying to stay on the side of the space station.” The last houseguest standing wins! Alex and Elena were the last houseguests standing, and a few deals were exchanged. For protection, Alex agreed to keep Elena and her people safe this week. Elena dropped, and Alex won HoH!

Nominations

Since last week, Paul and Alex have been building this good old friendship. That being said, Alex winning HoH was a win for Paul as well. Rather than targeting Jessica, who is alone in the game, Alex, Jason, and Paul decided to take a stab at the other side of the house. Dominique and Mark’s names have been floating around since Cody threw them under the bus on his way out. So, it came to no surprise that Paul wanted them out.

So, remember that deal between Elena and Alex during the HoH competition? Dominique and Mark were included on Elena’s “safe” list. At the nomination ceremony, Alex broke her deal with Elena and nominated Dominique and Jessica for eviction. Dominique felt completely betrayed by her former alliance, while Jessica saw her nomination coming from a mile away.

Power of Veto Competition

Alex, Dominique, Jessica, Kevin, Christmas, and Jason, participated in the Temple of Temptation Power of Veto competition. According to Wikipedia, “Houseguests must walk across their suspended beam and hit their statue. They must then return and hit their button again. Each time they hit their button, they will earn a point. If they fall in the lava, however, their counter will reset to zero. However, the houseguests were also offered a temptation. The first houseguest to hit their special button will earn a money prize, but they will eliminate themselves from the competition. The first houseguest to get fifty points will win the Power of Veto.” Jason wins!

Power of Veto Ceremony

As Jessica rebuilds her lost relationships, Dominique seeks justice to clear her name. After receiving a message from God himself, Dominique identifies Paul as the “snake.” Her holy revelation is followed by a heated exchange of words with Paul during a house meeting. To make things worse, Jason decided not to use the Power of Veto, leaving Dominique and Jessica remaining on the block.

Den of Temptation

Right before the live eviction, Jessica was offered the Halting Hex temptation.  Once accepted, she can use the power to cancel any of the next four evictions. Knowing that the votes were stacked against Dominique, Jessica decided against using the power this week. The eviction continued as normal.

Live Eviction

In a ten to zero vote, Dominique Cooper was evicted on day thrity. After her eviction interview, Julie had good news for our latest evictee. Similar to last season, the Big Brother Battle Back has returned. The first four evicted houseguests will compete head to head for a chance to come back in the game. Exciting, right? Be on the look out for the next Big Brother post this week.

After twenty three days, Cody Nickson, the 32 year old construction sales rep from Plano, TX became the second houseguest evicted from the Big Brother house. After being in a position of power last week, Cody’s game was completely turned upside down. During the live eviction, his alliance went against their original plan and sent the unintended target, Jillian home. To make matters even worse, Cody’s arch nemesis, Paul, became the newest HoH. As the week progressed, it came to no surprise that Cody found himself sitting on the chopping block, and eventually evicted during the live vote. You can find out how it all went down below.

Head of Household

Following the live eviction, we are introduced to the Sugar Shot Head of Household competition. During this challenge, candies are dropped from the sky with tickets inside. Once collected, houseguests are allowed to exchange tickets, and take up to three shots at one time. The first houseguest to land a ball in the center heart wins Head of Household for the week. Paul, the 24 year old clothing designer wins this challenge.

Den of Temptation

Source: CBS

As you know, America has been voting all week to tempt a new houseguest inside the den of temptation. The houseguest that accepts their temptation will unleash a consequence on the house. Christmas, the 35 year old fitness superstar was offered the Ring of Replacement, which grants her the power to replace a randomly drawn player in any veto competition this season. Of course, she accepts! In order to release the power though, Christmas selected Cody, Jessica, and Jason to be cursed for the week.

Nominations

Since the beginning of the week, Paul has made it known who his targets are, Cody and Jessica. With that being said, he plans on backdooring Cody, using two pawns in ths process. Paul eventually convinces both Alex and Josh to go up on the block together. During the nomination ceremony, Paul follows through with his plan and nominates Alex and Josh for eviction.

Cursed

Oh, and let’s not forget about Ramses. Remember, last week, he randomly received the nomination curse. He decided to use the curse this week, and became the third nominee.

Power of Veto Competition

Source: CBS

Paul, Alex, Josh, Ramses, Elena, and Matt participated in the Path of Least Resistance Power of Veto competition. According to wikipedia, “In this competition, houseguests competed individually. They must go through a series of rooms and answer questions based on what they have seen throughout the previous rooms. If they answer a question correctly, they may walk through a quicker path. If they answer incorrectly, they must take a delayed path that contains a challenge that will slow them down. The houseguest to make it through all five areas in the fastest time will win the Power of Veto. Paul was the winner.”

Power of Veto Ceremony

With complete power, Paul has every intention to carry out his plan. As expected, he used the Power of Veto on Josh, naming Cody as the replacement nominee.

Worried about Jessica’s position in the game, Cody decided to throw some of his former alliance members, Mark and Dominique, under the bus. Adding more fuel to the fire, Cody continued to stir the pot during Dominique’s talk show. Not only did this incident expose the old alliance to the house, it brought some attention to Dominique. At the live eviction, Cody was evicted in a seven to three vote.

Big Brother 19: Week Two

July 18, 2017

Filed Under : Reality TV - This & That

Source: CBS

Whew! It’s been a wild first couple of weeks in the Big Brother 19 house! A game that started off with sixteen strangers and one returning veteran player, was quickly turned upside down after three houseguests left the game. Sheesh! As mentioned in our previous Big Brother summary post, Cameron, the 24 year old microbiologist from Woodbridge, IL was evicted after a surprise twist was unleashed on the house. A few days later, Megan, the 28 year old dog walker from Phoenix, AZ self evicted from the game. If things couldn’t get even more interesting, Jillian, the 24 year old timeshare sales rep from Las Vegas, NV was the final houseguest evicted for the week. So much drama! Find out how it all went down below.

Head of Household

Source: CBS

Shortly after Cameron’s eviction, former winner, Nicole, hosted the “Hangs in the Balance” Head of Household competition. According to Wikipedia, “In this competition, HouseGuests were divided into four teams of equal gender. One at a time, houseguests had to swing across their ropes and grab a rotten apple and then return it to their station. However, they were all tempted by a golden apple, where the first houseguest to return a golden apple would earn safety for the week, resulting in their team’s elimination from the competition. Josh took the temptation and his team was eliminated as the consequence. The first two teams to retrieve eight apples would advance to the second round of the competition. The pink team and the blue team were the winners, who then went head-to-head to balance seven apples on a tree. However, only one person per team could compete. The first HouseGuest to successfully balance their apples would be the first Head of Household.” Cody, the 32 year old construction sales rep claimed victory as the new HoH.

Nominations

After forming a large alliance of “Generals” and “Babes” consisting of Mark, Matthew, Raven, Jessica, Christmas, Elena, and Dominique, Cody was ready to take a shot at his first round of targets. Everyone else, aka The “Outsiders,” were on Cody’s radar, with Paul as a backdoor option. Ultimately, Cody went with his gut decision and nominated Jillian and Megan for eviction. Cody personally doesn’t like Megan, and since Jillian is closely aligned with Megan, she had to go up on the block as well.

Self Eviction

Source: CBS

Megan, the 28 year old dog walker was having a rough time in the house. Not only did she have two arguments with josh, Megan was later nominated for eviction. Just when you thought her game couldn’t get any worse, Megan falsely accused Jessica for making a derogatory comment towards Alex, causing another fight. On day nine, the game took it’s toll on Megan, and she decided to self-evict.

Den of Temptation

Source: CBS

During the premiere, we were introduced to the Garden of Temptation. This week, Big Brother decided to create the Den of Temptation, where a houseguest of our choice will be enticed by a game-changing offer. Paul, the 24 year old clothing designer, became the first houseguest tempted by America. He was given the offer of the Pendant of Protection, which would gives the offered houseguest immunity for the next three evictions. The pendant is only revealed if the selected houseguest is nominated for eviction. Since Paul accepted the offer, another houseguest receives a curse. Ramses, the 21 year old cosplay artist recieved a nomination cursed. This curse required Ramses to put himself on the block within the next three weeks.

Renomination

Now that Megan has self-evicted herself from the game, Cody had to replace her with another houseguest. Alex, the 28 year old eco-friendly marketing rep found herself sitting in the block next to her closest ally Jillian. Although Cody respected her game, Alex was a major threat to his alliance, especially with the females. Plus, she has a good shot at winning the following HoH competition.

Power of Veto Competition

Source: CBS

It’s not time for the first Power of Veto competition of the season. According to Wikipedia, “Cody, Alex, and Jillian, alongside Matt, Raven, and Jason, scrapped in the Fin to Win Power of Veto competition, which was hosted by Kevin. In this competition, HouseGuests had to pull the plug on their water timer, causing it to drain. They had to then search the water for starfish and put them on their stacking shelf one at a time. If their water began to run low, they could collect water from the ocean to put in their timer. Once a HouseGuest’s water timer was empty, their starfish were locked in. However, the players were also offered a temptation. The first HouseGuest to find a gold starfish and place it on their shelf would earn a Never-Not pass, meaning they cannot be a Have-Not for the rest of the season. However, they would eliminate themselves from the competition. Raven took the temptation. The HouseGuest with the most starfish stacked on their shelf after their water had drained would win the Power of Veto. Alex won the Power of Veto.”

Veto Ceremony

Now that Alex has won the Power of Veto competition, Cody was forced to put his backdoor plan into full affect. If you recall, Cody had his eyes set on targeting Paul earlier in this week. He intended on backdooring Paul, without the consent of his alliance though. Cody has yet to inform anyone about his plan, including his showmance partner, Jessica. At the Power of Veto Ceremony, it came to no surprise when Alex took herself off the block. Cody named Paul as the replacement nominee, but this plan was completely foiled. Remember, Paul has the pendant of protection, saving him for the week. Now that the pendant has been used, Cody is forced to name another nominee. In a shocking turn of events, Cody nominated a member from his own alliance, Christmas.

Eviction

Source: CBS

Following the Power of Veto ceremony, the lines were officially drawn in the sand. Christmas, the 35 year old fitness superstar felt completely betrayed by Cody. Members of the alliance were also split in Cody’s decision, especially since his plans were made in secrecy. Originally, the new plan was to take out Christmas, the physical threat. Unbeknownst to him, Cody’s alliance flipped their votes, with the exception of Jessica. In a eight to four vote, Jillian was evicted from the game.

In the grand scheme of things, Jillian was a casualty of circumstance. Had Megan stayed in the game, she would have been evicted instead. Jillian would have likely stayed over Paul as well, the likely target. Unfortunately, she found herself in a tough situation and couldn’t rally enough votes to stay, despite Christmas being Cody’s new target.

Farewell,

When entering, they are greeted to a round of cheers and applause from their new roommates. Cody, Jessica, Josh, and Megan are the final four to enter the house.

Garden of Temptation

Source: CBS

Once we get through a round of formal introductions, the houseguests meet in the backyard to experience their first temptation, the Garden of Tempation. Here, each houseguests will sit in a sequestered pod. The houseguests are offered $25,000. The identity of hosueguests that accepts the offer will be anonymous. However, their actions would unleash the first twist of the season. Kevin, the 55 year old stay at home dad took the offer. In doing so, Kevin has two consequences. He is unable to win in the first HoH competition and has unleashed the first twist in the house.

Twist Unleashed

Source: CBS

After leaving the Garden of Temptation, the houseguests are still in shock. Then, the doorbell rings. Fan favortie, Paul Abrahamian, the 24 year old clothing designer from Big Brother 18, enters the house. Julie announces that Paul is part of the unleashed twist. Although some houseguests were completely star struck, some viewed Paul is a big threat, especially since he was runner-up last season. Cody, the 32 year old construction worker, is ready to backdoor Paul out the game. Megan rallies Jillian, Alex, and Ramses to discuss Paul’s position in the game.

After a brief period, Julie is back to announce that Paul is back in the game. However, Paul is not simply moving in to the Big Brother house to play the game, he is taking someone’s spot in the first ever Big Brother swamp. Then, Paul was given the task to select eight houseguests to receive a “Friendship” bracelet, which saves them from eviction. Since he didn’t have much to go off, Paul gave bracelets to Kevin, Raven, Dominique, Mark, Jason, Jessica, Ramses, and Elena.

Tempted by the Fruit

Source: CBS

Now, that the other eight houseguests have to fight to stay in the game, they will compete in the backyard in the Tempted by the Fruit Competition. For this competition, the participating houseguests are required to stand on a trapeze bar while holding on to a rope. Once he or she falls, they will select an apple from a serpent. Four apples contain safety, while the other three apples are “poisonous”. During the competition, Julie provides clues, guiding them to the four safe apples. The last houseguest standing has guaranteed his or her safety from the eviction, and the three houseguests with poisonous apples would be nominated for the first eviction. Jillian is the first to fall, followed by Megan. Josh takes a chance and grabs once of the apples, the same with Cameron. Christmas and Matt eventually drop, leaving Alex and Cody in the competition. After a lengthy conversation, Alex can’t hold on anymore and drops, giving Cody the win.

The Reveal

Source: CBS

Now that everyone has fallen, it’s time to open each apple. Alex and Matt are safe, as Christmas and Cameron received a “poisoned” apple. Josh and Megan are both safe, and Jillian is left with a poisoned apple as well.

Temptation Twist Power

Source: CBS

Back in the house, Julie tells the three nominees, Cameron, Christmas, and Jillian that they can either participant in a third competition to decide who goes home or let the other houseguests vote to decide. In a strange turn of events, Jillian and Christmas vote for a houseguest vote, while Cameron votes for the third competition option. Remember that time Christmas was a fitness celebrity? She was not trying to participate in anything physical.

Eviction

Source: CBS

There was a last minute scramble right before the eviction. Unfortunately, one houesguest fell short. In the case of a tie, Paul will be the sole vote to evict. One by one, each houseguest went into the diary room to cast their vote. Receiving eight votes, Cameron the 24 year old microbiologist, became the first houesguest evicted from the Big Brother house.

Opinions

Source: CBS

Okay, so I’m going to keep this brief and optimistic. I actually love this new group of houseguests. Not only are they very vibrate, they are also a lot more mature age wise. Big Brother usually casts a lot of 20 something year olds. This season, the cast is mostly in their late 20s, and early 30s.

As far as favorites, I don’t have one yet. However, certain houseguests have made a lasting impression on me. I’ll provide more details as the weeks play out.

Lastly, I am actually happy to see Paul again, I just don’t like the circumstances. Paul would have been perfect for a second all stars season. We will see how this goes.

Overall, I am very impressed so far. There is not much to go off, but the season looks promising. I will be back at the beginning of next week to bring you the remaining week one summary, followed by week two. I’m a little behind, so I’m trying my best to keep up with the show.

Until we meet again,

-Bryce Lennon
