As a part time instructor, I rarely have enough time to change between jobs. Thus, a two piece suit is the last thing I want to work everyday. I like to wear pieces that are both comfortable, and business casual at the same time. With that being said, suit separates are like my best friend. Over the years, I’ve steadily accumulated a collection of suit jackets. In no way shape or form am I an expert in tailored fits or suit quality. However, I have a niche for finding reasonable prices suiting apparel. For instance, I styled this navy, $15 suit jacket with a white button-up, skinny jeans, knit tie, and leather loafers. To accessorize, I wore my Zebrawood & Dark Sandalwood from JORD. This custom fit, wooden watch added a nice touch to my overall look. Similar to the long sleeve, button-up shirt, turtlenecks are one of the most versatile layering pieces in the game. Why? Simple, there are just so many options! For instance, I love layering my favorite turtlenecks under cardigans, sweatshirts, cable knit sweaters, and blazers. If you don’t believe me, have a look at this week’s Secondhand Sunday outfit above. As you can see, I decided to style my white turtle neck, with a thrifted v-neck sweater from the Salvation Army. I know, it sounds like an ancient trend, but this is one of my favorite pairings. It’s a sweater…it’s a robe…it’s a…kimono? In recent years, there has been a rise in elongated fashion trends across the country. From t-shirts to over coats, everything is long in the world of fashion. As you can see, I’ve joined in on the fun with this woven kimono from ASOS. For under $30, this little statement piece is perfect for a casual afternoon in the city, especially with a muscle tee and denim jeans. Continuing on with this casual theme, I threw on my newly purchased Sk8-Hi Vans sneakers. Not only are these sneakers comfortable, they compliment the kimono quite well.

Wearing bulky coats and jackets can be exhausting at times, especially if you want to show off your stylish outfit. As an alternative, you can always dress in layers!
