WIWT: Flannel Shirt Around the Waist

I know the tied shirt around the waist look has been a little played for quite some time now, but it’s still super appealing to me. The 90s phenomena made such a comeback in 2013, that it was completely watered down the following year. Even still, I love tying an old flannel button-down over a simple solid color sweatshirt, as shown above. This is the perfect transitional outfit for layering, especially between seasons. I also believe that the customized distressed denim skinny jeans and Sk8 Hi Vans are my new favorite combo for the season. In conjunction with the shirt tied around the waist trend, this casual look is practical, yet stylish at the same time. So, how do you feel about this particular look? Outfit of the Week

So, I was recently inspired by this old Autumn/Winter lookbook by ASOS. Of course, I had to recreate this look to show you how I styled it. As you can see, I kept it quite simple. I couldn’t resist including the navy herringbone blazer for a tailored, more masculine look. The denim shirt and cargo joggers help dress down the blazer a bit. It’s no secret that green is one of my favorite colors this season. So, what’s better than an army green military jacket? More army green military jackets! Here, I decided to pair it with a solid color white tee and distressed skinny jeans. For the record, the jacket’s faded green color adds a nice rugged touch to a few simple pieces. The other big eye catcher in this outfit comes from the suede, chelsea boots. Great color and texture, right? So, how do you feel about this particular look? WIWT: Poncho

Rain rain go away, Come back another day! For it to be mid October, our weather has been all over the place. As the temperature continues to rise, all those late afternoon showers are becoming more of a nuisance every day. That being said, it’s always important to keep a few water resistant pieces around for good measure. Take, for instance, the “Vibes” poncho, as shown above. Not only is the poncho fully water resistant, it’s large enough to keep your entire outfit covered. Can’t beat that, right? Since the jacket itself is black, I decided to stay within the color theme with these skinny joggers from ASOS as well. For a little contrast, I threw on my dirty Chuck Taylors.
