There’s nothing more fun than stripes in the summer, especially vertical stripes. If you don’t believe me, just check your Instagram explorer feed. All your favorite IG hotties are wearing striped button-ups and pants out and about. For me personally, I prefer vertical stripes for my button-downs and t-shirts. Pants are okay too, but I prefer a bold striped long sleeve shirt instead. Today, I decided to get a little creative by pairing these contrasting, vertically striped top and bottom duo together. Let’s be clear here, the shirt and pants are not a matching co-ord set. They only have two similarities, their stripes and colors. That’s it! The lines in both are very thin, which look great up close and far away. When it comes to footwear, a simple sock sneaker will do the trick! How do you feel about this particular look? When it’s a hot work day, the last thing I want to do is wear a dress shirt and neck tie to the office. So, what’s a guy to do when he wants to keep it professional, and stay cool? Wear a polo shirt of course! Today, it’s all about the piped moisture-wicking performance polo from Express. Available in a variety of colors including wine, deep navy, or pitch black, this sleek design takes the classic polo from athletic to iconic. Today, white is my color of choice, and it looks great with the Express slim stretch jeans as well. Step out in your favorite slip-on iridescent shoes and you’re ready for a happy hour! Velvet Tee | Jeans | Boots

This may sound a little crazy, but I admire anyone that can pull off a velvet shirt during the summer. Why? Velvet is one of those fabrics that can elevate any look. Yes, you may sweat a little bit. Since there are so many thin made velvet shirts out there these days, you can’t go wrong. If you are feeling a little self conscious, just wear your shirt at night to stay cool. Since I’ve cycled through shades of pink, blue, and yellow this season, it’s time to wear all your favorite whites before Labor Day! Recently, I received an opportunity to work with Dickies during their harbor gray work shorts campaign. The catch? I was instructed to style these shorts with some of my favorite colors. Since these shorts are super long, skater apparel will do the trick. It was super easy to pair these shorts with a heavyweight t-shirt and checkered book bag, all from Dickies. All that white looks great with the shorts! Thanks Dickies for an amazing opportunity.
