Music Monday: Hurricane Tunes

September 10, 2018

With the first day of autumn right around the corner, we are currently transitioning between seasons. Mother Nature has whipped up a little storm in the sea. On Thursday, Hurricane Florence is scheduled to hit the northeast with strong winds and heavy rain. Just in case I’m stuck in the house this weekend, I decided to create a very relevant playlist, hurricane tunes. Every song has a little “precipitation” undertone. So, when you get a chance, check out the full playlist below:

  1. “Hurricane,” Halsey
  2. “Can You Stand the Rain,” New Edition
  3. “Purple Rain,” Prince
  4. “Rain,” Tory Lanez
  5. “Rain on Me,” Ashanti
  6. “Rainy Dayz,” Mary J. Blige
  7. “Raincoat,” Timeflies, SHY Martin
  8. “Thunder,” Roy Blair
  9. “Stormy Weather,” Jade De LeFleur

Stay safe,

#WIWT Cut-off Flannel Shirt

What I’m Wearing
Flannel Shirt | Shorts | Sneakers

Hey everyone! So, I have to tell you something very interesting. Lately, I’ve been obsessed with Pinterest fashion boards (More so than usual), and I happened to notice a late summer trend. All the cool guys are cutting of their shirt sleeves, like in a 90s type of way. Rather than missing out on all the fun, I decided to cut the sleeves off my old flannel shirt from way back. More specifically, this shirt goes all the way back to undergrad. That being said, it has some sentimental value. Since it’s still scorching hot outside, I decided to style the shirt with my favorite black khaki shorts from H&M. For the evening hours, you should go with a pair of chinos or denim jeans instead. So, how do you feel about this particular look? Feel free to share in the comments section below.

Thanks for all the support,

Secondhand Sunday: Festival Attire

What I’m Wearing
Shirt | Jeans | Sneakers

Happy September folks! It’s Labor Day weekend, and you know what that means…festival season is finally dwindling down. Made in America is back in Philly this weekend. So, all the kiddies are out getting intoxicated in 90 degree weather, listening to a plethora of great music. Meanwhile, I’m being my usual weird self, putting together festival looks, with no intentions of actually going out. If I were to attend a music festival though, this is what I would wear. My summer staple, the Hawaiian button-up shirt is perfect for any event. With such a bold print, the shirt looks great with a pair of distressed denim jeans. I actually went with a pair of grey denim jeans from ASOS. Finishing off, I went with my low top Chuck Taylors. Classic, right? So, how do you feel about this particular look? Feel free to share in the comments section below.

Happy Labor Day Weekend,
