Music Monday: Middle School Jams

May 14, 2018

Happy Monday everyone! So, I’m back again with another #MusicMonday post. This time, I decided to create a playlist around some of my favorite songs from those late 90s to early 2000s days. Clearly, I was in middle school around then, hence the title. For the record, my parents had no idea I was listening to all this mature music. So, when you get a chance,  check out the playlist below:

  1. “No More,” 3LW
  2. “Ride Wit Me,” Nelly, City Spud
  3. “No Scrubs,” TLC
  4. “Get Ur Freak On,” Missy Elliott
  5. “What’s It Gonna Be?!,” Busta Rhymes, Janet Jackson
  6. “You Make Me Wanna…,” Usher
  7. “The Boy is Mine,” Brandy
  8. “Back That Azz Up,” Juvenile
  9. “Quiet Storm – Remix,” Mobb Deep
  10. “Good Times,” Styles P
  11. “Thong Song,” Sisqo

#WIWT MILITARY JACKET

What I’m Wearing
Military Jacket | Jersey | Jeans | Sneakers

Every once in a while, I make an attempt to recreate one of my previously featured looks. As shown above, I brought back the military jacket and distressed jeans look. Last time we saw this look here, I kept it simple with a white tee and chelsea boots. Today, I switched up the color palette with a black jersey and my favorite low top Vans sneakers. Smooth, right? So, how do you feel about this particular look? Feel free and share in the comments section below.

WIWT: GREASE

What I’m Wearing
Leather Jacket | Shirt | Jeans | Boots

For my friend’s 28th Birthday, I traveled to NYC with my new love interest to join in on all the brunch shenanigans. The trip to the Big Apple was very relaxing, especially since the temperature has finally warmed up a bit. For my attire, I wanted to dress comfortable, yet stylish. So, what’s better than a Whitney Houston inspired graphic Tee from Target? Nothing! As shown above, I styled this fun shirt with a black moto jacket and accessorized with my bandanna ascot. I guess you can say I pulled a little inspiration from the film Grease, except I’m rocking my favorite “Brunch Boots” rather than the Chuck Taylors. So, how do you feel about this particular look? OOTW: Vertical Stripes

Outfit of the Week
Shirt: Forever21 | Pants: TOMORROWLAND | Shoes: Doc Martens

I was recently inspired by this wonderful young man to start investing in matching print sets. So, I took at stab at it, and this is what I came up with! I know the vertical, black and white stripes are giving you Beetle Juice vibes, but they are simply amazing. With the right show, this could be an upcoming summer trend. If matching isn’t your thing, you can always wear them separately.  How do you feel about this particular look? Feel free to share in the comments section below!
